Certificate of authenticity
Every painting you buy in our gallery is an original work of art. With every painting we sell you receive a certificate of authenticity, which guarantees that you are buying a work by that specific artist.
Please note that buying a painting does not transfer its copyright — you do not acquire the right to use the artwork commercially, for example to copy it or produce reproductions.
30-day return guarantee
Our main goal is to help you find the one artwork that truly fits and delights you — it is an object that will decorate your home for a long time and will eventually be passed on to future generations.
Although by law works of art cannot be returned (the seller's consent is required), don't worry — if you have doubts within 30 days of the purchase date, contact us: we will take the work back and refund your money, or offer you to choose another one from our art platform!
Delivery
Delivery time: 10–14 business days. Every artwork ships insured by courier (FedEx/DHL) with a tracking number. Originals are one-off pieces and are packed with particular care. If you need the piece sooner, contact us — we can usually find a solution. For deliveries outside the EU, import duties may apply; these are borne by the recipient.
Returns
As a consumer you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from the day you receive the goods — no reasons needed. Details and the model withdrawal form are in our withdrawal notice (linked in the footer). Beyond that, as a courtesy we accept returns up to 30 days after receipt — an artwork should truly delight you. Contact us and we will find a solution.
Artwork in the room
For Aidaras Merkevičius, painting represents “a hint of the concrete,” a space where the distinction between reality and abstraction becomes indistinct. He maintains that “where talking begins, art ends,” underscoring the indescribable nature of artistic creativity. Within his works, city outlines dissolve into fields of color, their existence suggested only by the sporadic appearance of a spire or an arch extending skyward. This strategy is intentional—Merkevičius aims to draw viewers into an experience of enigma, believing that direct replication strips art of its significance.
Each piece by Aidaras Merkevičius reflects his meticulous attention to both the interplay of colors and the overall visual effect. He carefully chooses muted palettes to endow his urban landscapes with a unique atmosphere. Additionally, he considers the presentation, taking care to frame his work so every painting is immediately ready to display and enjoy, highlighting his commitment to aesthetics and the viewing experience alike.
His history of exhibitions is extensive, beginning in Lithuania with initial displays in 1991 at the Jonava Regional Museum and the Kėdainiai City Hall Art Gallery. Further shows appeared in leading venues, including the Kaunas Artists' Union Gallery, Vault Gallery in Vilnius, Gallery Arch, and repeated exhibitions at both the Jonava Art Gallery and Jonava Culture Center Art Gallery, continuing throughout the late 2000s.
Merkevičius’s work has also achieved international acclaim, notably in the United Kingdom. Highlighted exhibitions include the Tolbooth Art Center in Scotland (1996), Hanover Fine Arts in Edinburgh (1997-2008), Tubal Caine Gallery in Harrogate (1997), The Bruton Street Gallery in London (2000), participation in the Edinburgh International Art Festival (2004-2007), and a showing at Phoenix Art Gallery in 2008. In 2012, Aidaras Merkevičius was officially recognized as an artist, firmly establishing his place in the world of art.
